K9 Nose Work / AKC Scent Work / NASDA
These organizations are quite a bit different so putting a brief explanation on this page to help with understanding of the titles.
September 2022, Cruzyn Put Ya Name in the Goblet of Fire
New Nosework ORT
Uses 3 odors initially. In order to compete in NACSW K9 Nose Work, a dog must first pass an odor recognition test for all 3 odors. Once the ORT is passed, then they are eligible to compete in the more difficult levels. All 3 odors are used in increasingly more difficult searches for additional titles. To title, they must pass all elements in one day.
Scents: Birch, Anise, and Clover
Elements: Interior, Exterior, Containers, and Vehicle
Starts with a single odor first and 4 elements. Dogs can title in each element after 3 successful searches.
Once all elements are achieved in that level, then a new Level title is earned that overrides the 4 initial element titles. As the dog advances, the complexity, odors they must find, and total finds increase.
Scents: Birch, Anise, Clover, and Cypress
Elements: Container, Interior, Exterior, Buried
